Belarusian Railways’ export freight shipment 6.1% up in November



MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – In November 2020 export freight shipment by Belarusian Railways increased by 6.1% in comparison with November 2019 to a total of 4.3 million tonnes, the Belarusian Railways press service told BelTA.

The shipment of fertilizers and cement increased by 1.5 times, with the shipment of oil products up by 11%. The main export destinations included ports of Lithuania and Latvia (with consequent transportation by sea to Western Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America), ports of Russia, Ukraine, and Poland.

The volume of freight handling increased by 2.2% in comparison with November 2019 to about 7.5 million tonnes.
