Chinese blacklisting of Australian coal hits four Golden Ocean ships

From the headquarters in Oslo, Golden Ocean CEO Ulrik Andersen is currently keeping a close eye on a worrying situation off the coast of China, which is impacting several of the shipping company’s own vessels.

A diplomatic dispute between China and Australia means that more than 50 dry bulk vessels have been stranded outside of Chinese ports for at least a month, Bloomberg reported this week. This happens after China allegedly blacklisted the import of several Australian commodities – including coal, which impacts the dry bulk sector.
