Cotton procurement to be taken up in Bhongir soon

Tenant farmers were asked not to worry about selling of their cotton produce

Yadadri-Bhongir: District Marketing Officer Mohammed Aleem on Thursday said that purchasing of cotton from tenant farmers would also be launched soon in Yadadri-Bhongir district.

In a media release, he said assured tenant farmers that they dont need to worry about selling of their cotton produce. Purchasing of cotton from tenant farmers would start after the updation of the data of farmers online. The tenant farmers should furnish a certificate from officials of Agriculture Department that the cotton was produced by them in the land taken on lease from others.

He said, so far, 84,690 quintals of cotton was purchased from the farmers through 14 Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) purchasing centres in the district.
