Rs 70L for parking lot in Mandi : The Tribune India

The state government has approved Rs 70 lakh as the first installment for the construction of a parking lot at U block in Mandi town in the district. This parking lot would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore.

Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur said the construction of parking lot project in Mandi town was under consideration of the state government, which recently approved the sum of Rs 70 lakh as first installment for the purpose.

Grain market on 20 bighas

A grain market building will also be constructed near Mandi town to provide the wholesalers of the town better marketing facilities. The market will be set up on 20 bighas.

 

“Now the district administration would start the construction process of the parking lot. Apart from this, a primary school building would be constructed at the U block,” he added.

He said that all the formalities like no objection certificate (NOC) from the Forest Department have been completed and construction would start soon.

“Ninety per cent work of Dev Sadan near Mandi town has been completed and an amount of Rs 10 crore has also been sanctioned for additional construction work in the building,” he said.

The construction of a parking lot in Mandi town is a long pending demand of the locals, who were facing difficulty in find any parking facility for their vehicles. Due to that they were forced to park their vehicles on the road side, which generally causes long traffic jams in day time.
