SPAR UK launches new forecourt in Lancashire

It is the company’s second new store to open in the UK in the last four weeks. The site features a SPAR store and a Shell station.

James Hall & Co., SPAR UK wholesaler for the north of England, has launched a new forecourt site near Bury in Lancashire. It is the company’s second new store to open in the United Kingdom in the last four weeks.

Once a used car showroom, SPAR Tottington now offers a large SPAR store alongside a Shell forecourt with 6 fuel pumps, and an air and water machine. The store will offer a butchery counter, a delicatessen counter, coffee-to-go and ice slushie machine.

“SPAR Tottington offers local residents the very best in modern convenience shopping with an extensive range of everyday essentials, delicious food-to-go and signposts and history boards celebrating the local landscape,” said Company Owned Stores Director at James Hall & Co., Julie McAulay.

The UK became a member of SPAR in 1956 when a group of independent wholesalers was granted the SPAR licence by SPAR International. There are five regional partners in the UK.
