75M sandwiches a year expected from new Greenwood County factory | Greenville Business

GREENWOOD COUNTY — A packaged sandwich company plans to establish operations in Greenwood County to almost double its national production capacity.

E.A. Sween, a private, family-owned company that sells more than 100 million sandwiches annually, plans to invest $38 million and create 300 new jobs in Greenwood County.

About 75 million sandwiches a year are expected to be made at the new facility once fully operational. The building at 5730 Highway 25 North in Hodges is expected to open in the third quarter of 2023.

The company has four brands: Deli Express, Market Sandwich and San Luis Burritos and Simply Delicious Bakery. This project has been approved for job development credits by the Coordinating Council for Economic Development.
