On Friday, officials arrested a suspect in connection with an early morning shooting in Georgia. Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Cameron Golden was taken into custody at a Greyhound bus station in Birmingham, Alabama, which is about three hours away from the crime scene.
One person was killed in the shooting at the Dart Container Plant in Conyers, Georgia. The victim was identified as 42-year-old Taurus Andrews, who was an employee at the facility. He died after being rushed to the hospital.
Nearby schools and government buildings were put on lockdown, but have since returned to normal operations.
Golden was reportedly hired to work at the plant through a temp agency. Police are searching for a motive and the incident is under investigation.
“We would like to thank the community for their support and the agencies that worked with us with this apprehension,” stated Rockdale County Sheriff Eric J. Levett. “This investigation is still moving and we will provide updates as things become clear.”
