- They named many software-as-a-service startups focused on B2B.
- These startups ranged from project-management to research-collaboration tools.
It’s been a rough fundraising year for many startups as VCs have radically slowed spending from 2021 levels.
While business software is seen as one of the few recession-proof markets, even this area of venture funding has dramatically slowed. During the first six months of 2022, 62 startups received a total of $5.61 billion from investors, compared to the 455 cloud startups that raised a total of $15.2 billion last year, according to PitchBook.
Finding promising, flourishing B2B software-as-a-service, or SaaS, cloud startups in 2022 is a bit more difficult than it has been in years past. Insider asked top investors to name the most promising startups they’ve seen this year, both in and out of their portfolios.
Whether they are industry-specific business-management platforms or human-resources tech that businesses of any size can use, the companies they named have experienced funding rounds, growth, or other notable wins this year.
All funding totals are according to PitchBook, unless otherwise noted.
