13 workers suffer burn injuries in LPG leak in Andhra factory | Visakhapatnam News

At least 13 workers received burns in a fire accident caused due to LPG leak in workers’ quarters of Berry Ferro Alloys factory in the Growth Centre at Bobbili late on Friday night.

VIZIANAGARAM: At least 13 workers received burns in a fire accident caused due to LPG leak in workers’ quarters of Berry Ferro Alloys factory in the Growth Centre at Bobbili late on Friday night.
All the victims belong to Bihar and they are employed in the ferro alloys factory. Among the injured, the condition of three workers is said to be critical.
According to the police, the workers were in deep sleep when the fire broke out. They work in the morning shift and their quarters are on the premises of the factory. The gas leaked from a LPG cylinder from one of the houses and spread. The gas leak led to a fire, trapping the workers.
Workers alleged that there was no ventilation in the rooms. All the 13 workers, who were in a room, received burns. They were shifted to a private hospital in Vizianagaram by the factory management.
The injured were identified as Rambabu, Nitish Kumar, Sahil Kumar, Dharmendra, Syam, Ranjan Ram, Sonu Singh, Satish Kumar, Aravind Kumar, Shibodh Kumar, and Kundan Kumar. The condition of Sahil, Dharmendra and Sonu is critical.
The victims said the quarters have no ventilators. They said the condition of most of the rooms are bad. Bobbili police registered a case and launched an investigation.
